What products do we offer?

ZAZU Life offers comprehensive funeral cover for the BIGGG family. That’s right, your immediate and extended family.

Immediate Dependent plans provide family funeral cover for you, your partner, and up to 6 kids – all for one low premium. Need more? Add a top-up plan or one of our Value Funeral Plans to provide car hire, groceries, pre-paid electricity, and other amazing funeral assistance benefits for the ultimate cover.

Extended Dependent plans allow you to cover the extended family and other loved ones. That’s your parents, auntie, uncle, brother, sister, gogo, grandpa, niece, nephew, cousin, domestic worker, nanny, and more… phew!

Our funeral plans provide the choice of lump sum payouts, funeral assistance benefits combined with cash, or a combination of these for complete cover. The choice is yours and that’s what matters to us – YOU being in charge of YOUR LIFE.

ZAZU’s On-Hand living benefits are FREE to use value-added services including repatriation, telephonic medical advice, trauma counselling, emergency medical line, and more. ZAZU policyholders get immediate and unlimited access to these free to use services.

Who can I cover on a funeral plan?

Our ZAZU Plans are designed to cover the whole BIGGG family.
Our Immediate Plans cover yourself, your spouse and your children under 25 (21 if no longer a full-time student at a university).

Our Extended Plans cover your entire extended family too. Parents; in-law; your children over 25; uncles, aunties, gogo or grandad; cousins, nieces and nephews, or even your domestic worker.

And to top it all off, our Top Up Plans give you extra cover to ensure you are properly insured.

What ages can children be covered on immediate plans?

You can cover your immediate family and children up to the age of 25. Children are covered automatically until 21, and until 25 if they are full-time students at university.

What is your waiting period?

When covering your immediate family, there is a waiting period of 4 months and 4 paid premiums.

Extended dependants are covered after 6 months and 6 paid premiums.

Accidental death (such as car accidents, murders, and shootings) are covered from the first payment.

Death related to suicide is covered after a 12-month waiting period and 12 paid premiums.

Do you do group policies?

Of course. We offer bespoke group structures and arrangements.

Does the policy only pay out if someone I cover dies?

ZAZU Life policies have On-Hand benefits automatically included, at no extra cost, so your policy provides you with real benefits from day 1.

When you take out a ZAZU Life policy, and as soon as you have paid your first premium, you are able to get:

24/7, unlimited telephonic assistance from trained nurses if you have any medical emergency, or need any medical advice.

24/7, unlimited counselling over the telephone, as well as in person* counselling sessions too.

When am I not covered?

You are not covered in events of:

Death during a waiting period.

When a premium was not paid.

When an Insured Life dies as a result of being involved in any act of terrorism, unprotected strikes, political or civil disobedience or any criminal activity.

How quickly do you pay your claims?

This is our time to shine, and we are proud to say we have paid 93% of our claims in less than 24 working hours, once we have received all the required documents.

How do I keep my policy premiums up to date?

In case of any missed premiums, you can contact our call centre number on 0861 119 298 where our friendly agent will assist you with a payment to be deducted from your bank account.

Alternatively, you will receive a pay@code from us to pay the missed premium. You can utilise the pay@ service at any of the below facility networks (Shoprite, Checkers, PicknPay, Boxer, Usave, Spar, Standard bank, Pep, WeChat, Top it up, My eBills, Masterpass, Snapscan, Zapper and Ackermans)
