What happens if I miss a premium on my funeral policy?

There is a 31-day grace period. This means that all lives remain insured for a period of 31 days after your premium due date. If the premium is not paid after 31 days, the cover will lapse. This means that there will be no cover after the 31-day grace period. If you miss three (3) consecutive premiums, your policy will lapse, and you will have to take out a new policy to be covered, subject to new waiting periods.

How do I keep my policy premiums up to date?

In case of any missed premiums, you can contact our call centre number on 0861 119 298 where our friendly agent will assist you with a payment to be deducted from your bank account. Alternatively, you will receive a Pay@ code from us to pay the missed premium. You can utilise the Pay@ service at any of the below facility networks (Shoprite, Checkers, PicknPay, Boxer, Usave, Spar, Standard Bank, Pep, WeChat, Top it up, My eBills, Masterpass, Snapscan, Zapper and Ackermans)

Does my premium and cover increase over time?

Premiums are guaranteed for the first twelve (12) months from the commencement date and may be reviewed on an annual basis, where premiums and cover could be increased to ensure adequate cover. Any premium or cover changes will be communicated in advance.

What happens if I lower my cover?

The lives insured will be covered for a lower amount and future premiums will be lower in line with the reduced cover. No new waiting period(s) will apply.
